26/04/2025
On April 26, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held a grand ceremony to mark its 30th anniversary (April 26, 1995 – April 26, 2025), celebrating three decades of dedication to education, the advancement of knowledge, and the establishment of its reputation as a pioneering applied university in Vietnam.
The celebration took place at Thu Duc Campus
In his remarks at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Sc Ho Dac Loc, President of HUTECH, expressed profound pride and emotion as he looked back on the university’s 30-year journey: "Three decades may not be a long time compared to centuries-old universities, but it is enough for us to proudly reflect on the memorable milestones, relentless efforts, and remarkable achievements we have built together."
Prof. Dr. Sc. Ho Dac Loc reflected on HUTECH’s journey over the past 30 years
From its early days with just three academic programs and modest facilities, HUTECH has evolved into a multidisciplinary university offering over 60 programs from Bachelor's to Master's and Doctoral levels. Today, it serves more than 35,000 students and boasts over 100,000 alumni. The university has firmly established itself in the national education system and is making significant strides internationally. Yet, according to Prof. Dr. Sc. Ho Dac Loc, beyond the impressive numbers, HUTECH’s greatest accomplishment is preserving its humanistic and liberal educational spirit, nurturing generations of students with compassion, a strong sense of responsibility, and a drive to contribute to society.
Looking ahead, he affirmed: "Our 30th anniversary is not just a time for gratitude and reflection—it is a pivotal moment to embark on a new journey of innovation, internationalization, and sustainable development." From enhancing academic quality and focusing on people-centered development to building the HUTECH ecosystem, every effort aims to shape HUTECH into a new-generation university where knowledge goes hand-in-hand with social responsibility and a passion for service.
He emphasized that the 30-year milestone is not only a moment for gratitude but also the starting point of a new journey
Highlighting HUTECH’s progress, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong praised the university’s outstanding achievements in training high-quality human resources. Outlining future directions, he emphasized: "HUTECH must continue to put learners at the center, prioritize quality, enhance research capabilities, drive digital transformation, expand international cooperation, and foster a humanistic, liberal, and creative educational environment." He also expressed hope that HUTECH would further develop its academic staff, continuously update its curriculum to meet international standards, boost scientific research and innovation, modernize its facilities, and strengthen international partnerships, reinforcing its competitiveness in the global arena.
