With the aim of enhancing career opportunities for students, on April 8, the Vietnam - Korea Institute of Technology (VKIT) at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony with the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) in Ho Chi Minh City.
Representing KOSME were Ms. Lee Minsuk, Head of Youth Policy Division; Mr. Lim Jihyeon, Principal of K-Unicorn Academy; Ms. Ruy Jihye, Specialist at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups; and Mr. Kim SuYeon, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Office.

From HUTECH, the event was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Dinh Nguyen, Vice President and Director of VKIT; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Vice President; Ms. Won Kwi Jeong, Vice Director of VKIT; and Dr. Huynh Quoc Bao, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology.
During the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Dinh Nguyen expressed his gratitude on behalf of the university to KOSME for its valuable support over time. He emphasized that KOSME’s companionship has enabled HUTECH to expand its international cooperation, especially with Korean organizations and businesses, offering students exposure to modern international business models. He also expressed hope that in the near future, KOSME, particularly its office in Ho Chi Minh City, would continue supporting HUTECH in connecting with Korean enterprises and various international organizations.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong affirmed that fostering partnerships with reputable international organizations and businesses is a key strategic direction of the University Board of Directors and the Board of Presidents. This cooperation helps HUTECH continuously improve its teaching quality, broaden career prospects for students, and elevate the university’s standing in the region and globally. He believes KOSME and its Ho Chi Minh City office will serve as a strong bridge, helping HUTECH expand ties with Korean businesses operating in Vietnam. In addition, he hopes to further develop practical programs in areas such as entrepreneurship, innovation, and high-tech application.

Representing KOSME, Ms. Lee Minsuk emphasized that the signing ceremony carried two important meanings. It not only opened up opportunities for students to intern at top Korean companies but also symbolized the strong and friendly relationship between Korea and Vietnam. She expressed hope that both parties would continue to develop more joint initiatives and that the partnership between HUTECH and KOSME would grow even stronger and more successful in the future.

HUTECH and KOSME sign MOU to strengthen bilateral cooperation
In the presence of representatives from both sides, HUTECH and KOSME signed the MoU in a lively atmosphere. The agreement lays the groundwork for both parties to hold further discussions, conduct research, and implement focused programs aimed at developing top-tier human resources, especially in the IT sector. Additionally, KOSME will participate in recruitment events at HUTECH to identify and hire potential candidates for Korean companies.
KOSME, the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, is a non-profit organization funded by the South Korean government. Its mission is to implement policies and programs that support the sustainable development of small and medium-sized enterprises in Korea. KOSME offers both financial and non-financial support, including funding for business expansion, new product development, business restructuring, consulting, training, marketing, and international cooperation.
