Following a fulfilling journey of study and exploration, the Bukkyo Study Tour 2025—a collaborative initiative between the Faculty of Japanese Studies at HUTECH and Bukkyo University (Japan)—officially came to a close on March 6.
At the closing ceremony, four Bukkyo University students—Mori Hinata, Togawa Kyoka, Nagashima Anzu, and Nishibori Kyoka—shared their research findings and personal experiences in Vietnam. Mori Hinata reflected on her Vietnamese language journey, emphasizing the importance of communicating with native speakers to enhance language proficiency. Togawa Kyoka gave a presentation on Vietnamese cuisine, highlighting iconic dishes such as pho, banh mi, and bun cha, while drawing comparisons with Japanese food culture.
Meanwhile, Nagashima Anzu explored Vietnamese customs and traditional festivals, delving into the cultural and spiritual values behind them. Nishibori Kyoka focused her research on transportation in Vietnam, particularly the prevalence of motorbikes, comparing it to Japan’s public transit system and offering insights into the rhythm of urban life. These presentations showcased a deep appreciation for Vietnamese culture while fostering cross-cultural dialogue and understanding, further strengthening international academic cooperation.

Each presentation was followed by an engaging Q&A session with HUTECH lecturers and students, who offered thoughtful feedback and sparked lively discussions. These exchanges provided Japanese students with new perspectives on Vietnamese culture and gave HUTECH students the chance to proudly share more about their homeland—deepening mutual understanding and cultivating lasting friendships.

The final reporting session served as a special opportunity for both HUTECH and Bukkyo students to reflect on the memorable experiences gained throughout the program. Beyond learning about culture, the students also made meaningful progress in their Vietnamese language journey and strengthened their connection with Vietnam’s unique identity.
More than just a study tour, the program left a lasting impression on students from both universities Running from February 26 to March 6, the Bukkyo Study Tour 2025 provided valuable lessons and unforgettable experiences. Participants joined a range of Vietnamese language classes—from phonetics and numbers to greetings and everyday expressions—alongside practical cultural activities such as cooking Vietnamese dishes, making greeting cards, and visiting key cultural sites like traditional craft villages in Ba Ria – Vung Tau, the Independence Palace, and the Central Post Office. More than just an academic exchange, the program was a gateway for students to discover new cultures, broaden their horizons, and nurture friendships between Vietnam and Japan. It also empowered them to develop strong communication skills and confidently use foreign languages—laying a solid foundation for global integration and future career development.
