On May 12, the opening ceremony of the Cultural Exchange Week between students from CY Cergy Paris Université (CYU) and the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), themed “International Mission – Gastronomie Story”, officially took place. The event marked the beginning of a vibrant series of exchange activities aimed at strengthening cultural ties between France and Vietnam.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Kien hopes students will create lasting memories through cultural exchange
During the event, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Kien, Vice President of HUTECH, warmly welcomed the international students and expressed his honor in hosting the delegation as they explored Vietnamese culture. Throughout the week, HUTECH aims to create a bridge for cultural exchange, particularly through cuisine, a distinctive feature of each nation's identity. This occasion not only offers an opportunity to showcase the traditional beauty of Vietnam but also a chance for students from both sides to broaden their understanding and collaboratively create memorable experiences in a multicultural academic environment.
Representing CYU at the event were Mr. Benjamin Walle and Mr. Francois Veltin, both lecturers
Following the welcome, Mr. Tang Thong Nhan, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, gave an overview of HUTECH, highlighting its academic offerings from undergraduate to postgraduate levels, including international joint programs. He also outlined the week’s agenda, featuring specialized workshops, visits to cultural and tourist destinations, team-building activities, and immersive experiences deeply rooted in Vietnamese culture. This introduction gave CYU students a clearer picture of their upcoming journey and helped them prepare for a week full of exciting and enriching experiences in Vietnam.
In particular, the exchange program provides a dynamic platform for students from both universities to connect and engage through interactive activities designed to strengthen teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills - all essential competencies in today’s global learning environment.
The initial sessions lay the foundation for deeper collaboration
The Cultural Exchange Week is expected to further strengthen the partnership between HUTECH and CYU, while broadening international learning opportunities for students. It also serves as a source of motivation for both institutions to continue developing educational collaboration initiatives in the future.
