English Majors Confronting and Overcoming Challenges in Today’s Translation Industry

With the aim of helping students understand and address the challenges in the translation industry in the digital age, the English Language Faculty at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) organized a seminar titled “Translation – Modern Challenges and Solutions.”

Accompanied by Mr. Ngô Bình Anh Khoa, M.A., a lecturer from the English Language Faculty, the seminar offered students an opportunity to gain deeper insights into the field of translation and interpretation within the context of digital transformation. It also aimed to equip them with a foundation in critical thinking to navigate the profound impact of technology on the translation profession today. 

Mr. Ngô Bình Anh Khoa provided valuable insights into the field of translation and interpretation in the context of digital transformation.

During the seminar, he clearly analyzed the differences between human-generated translations and those produced by machine translation tools such as Google Translate and ChatGPT. He pointed out that while artificial intelligence can significantly assist in language processing, it still has many limitations and cannot replace the essential role of human translators.
