On the journey of learning and shaping the future, the flame of passion and real-world experience are the most valuable assets for every young person. With the desire to create a meaningful bridge between generations, the program “Accompanying Students” with the theme “Igniting the Flame of Entrepreneurship – Paving the Path to Success” was organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) on the morning of June 6.

 
The program was organized by the English Language Faculty in collaboration with the HUTECH Alumni Association and the Center for Business Cooperation, aiming to provide students with the opportunity to meet, listen to, and learn from successful alumni, thereby gaining greater confidence in their future career paths.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Võ Quốc Đại, M.A., Vice Dean of the English Language Faculty, emphasized that the success of past generations of alumni is the clearest testament to the university’s training quality and serves as an endless source of inspiration for current students. He shared: "Entrepreneurship is not simply about starting a business; it is about proactively taking control of one’s own life. Today’s program will be an opportunity for students to gain motivation, learn from real experiences, and gain a clearer understanding of the road ahead.”

Mr. Võ Quốc Đại emphasized that the success of alumni is a clear testament to the quality of the university’s training programs.

Serving as guest speakers at the event were distinguished alumni from the English Language Faculty, including Mr. Lê Viết Cảnh, Deputy General Director of Mega Group Joint Stock Company and Executive Committee Member of the HUTECH Alumni Association, along with Ms. Nhung Huỳnh, Delivery Manager at NashTech Vietnam.

Mr. Lê Viết Cảnh shared sincere and inspiring stories about his entrepreneurial journey. Rather than focusing on grand milestones or notable achievements, he chose to tell everyday stories, seemingly small steps that laid a solid foundation for his current success. With a thoughtful perspective, he emphasized: “Whether success comes quickly or slowly doesn’t matter. What matters is finding joy and value in the work you do each day.”

His advice resonated deeply with many students, encouraging them to reevaluate their career goals, not just focusing on the destination but also on the journey itself. According to him, a sustainable career does not stem from instant grand achievements, but from daily passion, effort, and dedication, even the smallest contributions. That message empowered young people to believe in themselves and persistently pursue the paths they have chosen.

The speaker’s message provided students with the motivation to remain steadfast in pursuing the paths they have chosen.

In addition, Ms. Nhung Huỳnh offered many valuable and practical pieces of advice. She affirmed that participation in youth union and student association activities is never a waste of time, as engaging in events and organizational work provides real-life experience that no textbook can offer. “Employers hold in high regard students who have been active in such organizations because they tend to be confident, enthusiastic, proactive, and knowledgeable about many aspects of life,” she shared.

Ms. Nhung Huỳnh emphasized that involvement in youth union and student association activities helps students gain valuable real-world experience.

Moreover, she encouraged students to find ways to stand out, especially in a time when English is no longer an exclusive advantage. Equipping oneself with a second foreign language, technological skills, or specialized knowledge in a particular field will serve as a “golden key” to stand out and win over even the most demanding employers.

Students also took the opportunity to ask the speakers questions about their intended career paths.

The insights shared by the speakers gave today’s students a powerful boost of motivation, helping them turn inspiration into personal drive. “After the program, I realized the importance of being proactive, daring to experience, and not fearing failure. I understand that the path to success always requires perseverance and the courage to change and take risks. Those sincere stories truly lit a fire within me, pushing me to be more proactive, actively participate in activities, and confidently create opportunities for myself,” said Lưu Tấn Phú, a first-year student from the English Language Faculty. 

The program left students with valuable lessons about the will to pursue their dreams.

More than just a session for sharing experiences, “Igniting the Flame of Entrepreneurship – Paving the Path to Success” delivered a profound message: success is not a flashy destination, but a journey of discovering value and joy in the work one does. The flame ignited today is not only the flame of ambition, but also of passion, kindness, and the courage to take bold steps. With that flame, every HUTECH student can become a successful “entrepreneur” on their own life journey, no matter the role they choose to play.
