Cultural Day – Xmas Joy 2024: English Majors Sharing the Christmas Spirit with International Friends

Embracing the festive atmosphere of the Christmas season, on December 24, the English Language Faculty at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) hosted the event “Cultural Day Xmas Joy 2024”, featuring a wide variety of food stalls and exciting, creative games.

Serving as judges for the event were Mr. Võ Quốc Đại, M.A. – Vice Dean of the English Language Faculty, Mr. Kurt Adam Sweiger – Faculty Lecturer, and Ms. Phạm Thanh Tố Mai, M.A. – Faculty Lecturer.

The event attracted a large number of HUTECH students, creating a lively and festive atmosphere to celebrate the year-end season.

Right from the opening, the program impressed attendees with vibrant game booths, food stalls, and souvenir stands, each thoughtfully prepared by English majors themselves. Delicious treats such as bubble tea, flan, panna cotta, and popcorn were beautifully presented, capturing the joyful spirit of the holiday season. Additionally, the souvenir booth featuring a variety of unique handmade crafts became a standout attraction, drawing in crowds of enthusiastic students.

The program impressed attendees with a wide array of vibrant game booths, food stalls, and distinctive souvenir stands.

It not only received enthusiastic participation from HUTECH students but also warmly welcomed a large number of international students, creating a meaningful and colorful space for cultural exchange. The event provided an opportunity for English majors to showcase the unique aspects of Christmas culture in Vietnam, while also allowing international students to experience and share the special holiday traditions from their own countries. This cultural connection not only broadened students’ understanding of global traditions but also fostered friendships, unity, and valuable learning experiences in the spirit of international integration.

The program also welcomed a large number of international students, creating a meaningful space for cultural exchange.

In addition to enjoying the unique food stalls and game booths, students from the English Language Faculty brought exciting energy to the event with captivating catwalk performances, showcasing their self-designed outfits. This was a wonderful opportunity for them to express their talent and creative passion, while also boosting their confidence and discovering their own potential.

The fashion show, featuring a variety of creative and eye-catching outfits, brought vibrant and energetic moments to the schoolyard.

To conclude the event, the English Language Faculty held an awards ceremony to recognize the groups with outstanding contributions. First Prize was awarded to class 22DTAB1, Second Prize to class 22DTAC3, Third Prize to class 22DTAC2, and the Student Choice Award went to class 23DTAB3. These awards served as motivation and encouragement, celebrating the students’ teamwork, creativity, and enthusiastic participation in collective activities.
