From March 31 to April 19, five students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) participated in an international semester program at Tongmyong University in Busan, South Korea. The experience not only provided the opportunity to study in a modern international environment but also served as a meaningful journey for students to develop essential skills, critical thinking, and global readiness.
This year’s participating students included Ly Vu Nhu Ngoc, Trinh Dinh Long, and Le Thi Hoa from the Vietnam-Korea Institute of Technology (VKIT); Nguyen Dinh Huy from the Institute of Engineering; and Luong Linh Dan from the Institute of International Education.
The program brought together students from both HUTECH and UEF
Over nearly three weeks in Busan, the students took two major courses, including Smart Business and International Marketing, which are taught entirely in English by professors at Tongmyong University. The curriculum reflected current trends in global business and marketing, enabling students to apply knowledge to practical assignments. Final presentations helped reinforce subject matter while improving essential skills such as public speaking, critical thinking and teamwork, which are key competencies for international careers.

During their time in Busan, the students completed two specialized courses: Smart Business and International Marketing
Beyond academics, the program offered cultural and business immersion activities that allowed students to explore life in the vibrant port city of Busan. Visits to Busan Port, local broadcasting stations, and cultural sites provided a broader understanding of Korean work culture, cuisine, and daily life.
The program was highly regarded by the students, who appreciated the well-organized schedule, approachable faculty, and enriching field trips. Student Le Thi Hoa shared that she returned with stronger skills, greater confidence in using English in an international setting, and a deeper understanding of both her field and Korean culture.
Beyond academic learning, the international semester was a transformative experience that fostered both knowledge and maturity
Through the international semester at Tongmyong University, HUTECH students not only gained academic knowledge but also experienced personal growth, sharpened their mindset for global integration, and strengthened their readiness for future professional pursuits in an increasingly interconnected world.
