August 8, 2024
To create opportunities for students to connect and exchange Vietnamese–Korean cultures, on August 7, the Faculty of English at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) organized the “Vietnam–Korea Cultural Exchange Program” in collaboration with Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS).
Representing the Faculty of English at the event was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trần Quốc Thao – Vice Dean of the Faculty. From Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, participants included Prof. Baek Jae Sung – Director of the Global Trade Expert Incubating Program (GTEP), and Prof. Park Kee Bong – Lecturer at the Department of International Finance.

At the event, students from both universities enjoyed a wide range of exciting cultural experiences. In addition to a lively game of Bingo featuring vibrant images of iconic Vietnamese and Korean cuisine, arts, and traditions, participants also took part in traditional folk games such as “Horse Race Chess” and “Yutnori.”
These engaging activities not only deepened students’ understanding of the two cultures but also created meaningful opportunities for interaction and connection—leaving lasting memories in the hearts of every participant.

The program was not only an opportunity for English Faculty students to engage in cultural exchange and learning, but also a chance to contribute to the success of the startup project by the 2ComeUs team from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
Specifically, students were provided with detailed information about the schedule, brand, and products of 2ComeUs at the SECC trade fair. Based on this, they would assist the team by interpreting between English and Vietnamese to help introduce the products to potential customers.
This served as a valuable opportunity for HUTECH English majors to practice their language skills in a real working environment, enabling them to apply their academic knowledge in a flexible and practical way.

English Faculty Students Had a Wonderful Exchange with Korean Students
It is believed that through the “Vietnam–Korea Cultural Exchange Program,” students of the Faculty of English not only gained insights into Korean culture, but also improved their language skills and developed essential soft skills such as teamwork and communication.
Connecting with international friends is one of the special privileges for HUTECH students, helping them strengthen their global mindset and prepare themselves to confidently step into the international arena.
