On December 1, the 13th Annual Sports Festival for English Majors at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) officially kicked off, drawing enthusiastic participation from a large number of students, all united in spirit and energy.
The 13th Annual Sports Festival for English Majors officially commenced.
The opening ceremony began in a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere with a flag-raising ceremony. Mr. Huỳnh Tấn Long, M.A. – Deputy Head of the Office of Student Affairs, along with representatives from the Faculty’s Union Executive Committee, delivered welcome speeches and officially launched the program.

This year’s English Faculty Sports Festival featured a variety of exciting competitions, including volleyball, mixed-gender tug of war, chess, athletics, and badminton. Notably, the event also served to celebrate important milestones of the university and encouraged students to stay physically active in order to excel both academically and athletically.
English majors competed with great spirit and enthusiasm throughout the Sports Festival.
After hours of intense and thrilling competition, the final results were as follows:
A highlight of this year’s festival was the “Healthy Student” activity, specifically designed for those who registered for the Five-Good Student title. The program included fitness challenges such as jump rope, standing long jump, sit-ups, jumping jacks, and push-ups. It provided students with a chance to test their limits while working toward earning the “Good Physical Fitness” certification, one of the key criteria in the Five-Good Student movement.
The Sports Festival was a valuable opportunity for connection, unity, and unforgettable student memories.
The English Language Faculty’s Student Sports Festival created a meaningful space for students to connect, strengthen solidarity, and build lasting memories during their university years. It also served as a chance for students to develop resilience, teamwork, and a strong sense of responsibility, essential qualities on the path to personal growth and maturity.
