HUTECH discusses potential student mobility program with the University of Texas at Austin

On June 11, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held a working session with a representative from the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin), one of the leading public universities in the United States and a prominent institution within the prestigious University of Texas system.
 
Attending the meeting were Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong, Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations and Project Management, and Dr. Jorge A. Prozzi, Satish Endowed Engineering Professor, representing UT Austin. The two sides discussed the potential implementation of a student mobility program from UT Austin to HUTECH, including academic models, program requirements, and conditions for hosting international students.

HUTECH emphasized that the university annually implements a variety of academic programs integrated with international exchange activities, attracting a large number of students from various countries. These programs not only focus on academic content but also harmoniously incorporate cultural, sports, and local experiential activities, contributing to a well-rounded and culturally rich learning environment.

The representative of UT Austin also explored opportunities for UT Austin students to participate in exchange programs in Vietnam through cultural exchanges, extracurricular activities, sports, and academic events. These elements are considered essential for international students to not only study effectively but also gain deeper insight into Vietnamese culture and daily life.

Following the discussion, Dr. Jorge A. Prozzi took a campus tour of the academic facilities at the Dien Bien Phu Headquarters (Saigon Campus), including classrooms, the library, laboratories, and common areas. Through the visit, the UT Austin representative observed that HUTECH offers a dynamic learning environment, modern facilities, and an academic program that effectively integrates theory with practical application.
